CO-CURRICULAR PROGRAMS

    GD Goenka conducts many on-and off-campus programs apart from curriculum-based activities, like one-night camps, excursions and trips, and inter-class, inter-house and intraschool competitions. Students are encouraged to develop their leadership skills through a ‘Student Council’ that is governed by a prefect body.
    To encourage and enthuse students, interactive sessions are conducted with invited experts and famous artists, scientists, sportsmen, and thinkers throughout the year. Normally , the first two periods in classes I to X are devoted to a multitude of activities on every Saturday. These activities are immensely wide in their range and vary from artistic pursuits to scholarly exercises. These are planned ahead of each academic year and are divided into the brackets of classes I to III, classes IV and V, classes VI to VIII and classes IX and X.
    As per academic calendar,every year sports week is held and various inter-class, inter house and inter-alia competitions are held for various games/sports activities. Winners are honoured with prizes and certification at the annual function.
    Every year an Annual day is celebrated on a pre-decided date. An Annual report is presented on this day for the previous academic year besides cultural activities and prize distribution function.
    The school authorities intend to make the students exposed to the outside world also besides studies.Therefore,encourage them to celebrate all important National and International days such as World Health Day, Hindi Day, Indian Army Day, Environment Day, Mother’s Day, Earth Day, No Tobacco Day, Father’s Day, Teacher’s Day, Children Day, Science Day, World Woman Day, World Water Day, etc.

    While in School

  • School Rules

  • English is the medium of instruction in the school. It is compulsory for all students and teachers to use English language for academic work as well as other communication within school premises.
  • Intentional or wilful damages to school property will be charged at the cost of replacement or repair.
  • Regularity and punctuality are major factors toward success in life. Any work assigned to the students should therefore be done in time.
  • Children who do not confirm to school regulations and discipline will be dealt strictly.
  • The principal has every right to admit or reject any leave application without giving any reason.
  • Children should not wear or carry any valuable articles along with him/her.
  • Cell phones/walkie-talkie or any other electronic devices will not be allowed in the school.
  • Children will not be permitted to meet any outsider other than parents or authorized guardians.
  • Students will be responsible for the safe custody of their belongings.
  • Students must come in their prescribed school uniform, fail to do so will attract fine or refusal to attend the class.
  • Right of alteration/modification

  • The school reserves the rights to change the fee structure.
  • The school reserves its rights to modify, alter any rule and regulation or include any other term and condition that may be deemed fit in the interest of the institution and students
  • Leave and Absence

  • Normally , no leave is allowed during the session unless it is an emergency situation at home or the child is medically unfit to attend the classes.
  • In case of wilful absence, a fine of Rs. 10/- per day will be charged and after ten days of continuous absence, the name will be struck off. Co-operation of parents is solicited in this matter.
  • 80% attendance is compulsory for all students to appear in the final examination held at the end of the academic year.
  • A student returning the school after suffering from any disease will have to produce a fitness certificate from the concerned doctor permitting him/her to attend the school.
  • School Timings

  • School timing is subject to alteration in consultation with parents or as per the decision of the school authorities.
  • Normally , school timing in summer is 7:40 AM to 12:20 noon and in winter 8:40 AM to 1:20 PM for Toddlers Zone, for other classes, it is 7:40 AM to 2:20 PM in summer and 8:40 AM to 3:20 PM in winter .
  • In Disciplinary Action


    Though it is a GD Goenka of kids itself as per its name, still the school authorities believe in inherent discipline. Any student found guilty of serious breach of conduct or involved in any type of indiscipline, will be immediately expelled from the school without any liability on the school. Any student found guilty/suspected in damaging or trying to damage the school property, will be fined or suspended or rusticated from the school depending upon the damage done by him/her.

    Student Council


    A monthly meeting with members of Student Council GD Goenka with management would be hold on 1st Saturday of every month in last period, if Saturday happens to be a holiday it will be held on next working day at same time.

    COUNCIL & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA TO BECOME MEMBER OF STUDENT COUNCIL


    1. Any student with a minimum of 60 % score in all subjects in the previous academic session.
    2. Student should not have a past record of suspension or divesting of badge during the previous & current session.
    3. Students with less than 80% attendance in the previous session will not be eligible to apply.
    4. Neat and tidy turnout of a student to school on a regular basis will be a criterion for selection
    5. A student can submit his/her candidature for one post only.
    6. Final selection of 11 members rests with management.
